Who We Are & What Sets Us Apart?
I am committed to empowering busy executives, entrepreneurs, and working moms to fall in love with their reflections.
My signature method combines my degrees in psychology and fine art with my 13+ years of professional experience and training in Fashion Design, Personal Styling, Image Consulting, and Fashion Styling.
What drives our process and every service we offer is to provide you with a transformational experience that goes beyond the closet and gives you access to a new level of confidence, freedom and power.
My work with clients goes beyond the clothes to get to what I refer to as the “why behind your wardrobe.”
We also have a focus on community and giving back. Our non-profit community project called “The Brazen Beauty Project” started in 2015 to empower adolescents in their self-image (see our “giving back” page.)
We also donate time and resources to other non-profit charities and events including “Stand Up for Education” and “Women Rising.”
Why “Be Brilliant”?
Our name was inspired by my late grandmother’s maiden name - Beatrice Brilliant. I’ve always loved her name, and the idea of honoring her - and all of those from generations past - through a business or project.
My grandmother, Beatrice or “Bea,” was a strong woman, and a seamstress. Sadly she became a widow shortly after giving birth to my mom, and she worked and raised my mom and aunt on her own. Growing up, she made me and my sister clothing and costumes. Most memorably, a gorgeous yellow “Belle” costume when I was 5 or 6 years old and still living in Bay Ridge, BK. I still have a purple floral circle skirt that she made me - even though it’s far from fitting, it’s one thing I’ll always keep, and hopefully pass down to my nieces and/or daughter.
After years of thinking about it, it also struck me that “Be Brilliant” is a great affirmation, which made it a perfect fit for the business since it was born out of my passion for empowering my clients to be their most radiant, brilliant selves. And of course, I love that it’s a way to honor and celebrate my grandmother’s life, and remember the generations before ours, that brought us here today.
